The 6 Hours of Fuji proved to be a classic race of high strategy and unpredictable fortune for the #33 Corvette Z06 GT3.R crew. While the final result of 11th place does not reflect the true potential of the car or the team, the relentless performance delivered by Ben Keating, Daniel Juncadella, and Jonny Edgar keeps them firmly in the championship hunt.
Starting P6, the #33 crew quickly executed a smart, differentiated strategy that found them in a strong position, running in the top three for much of the race. However, in a race where luck played a major role, the #33 found itself on the wrong side of the coin. A series of Safety Car neutralizations, combined with a ten-second pit stop penalty, derailed their run, ultimately preventing a good podium finish.
The glass is still half full. As TF Sport Owner Tom Ferrier noted, Ben and Jonny “drove brilliantly”. The team’s pace improved throughout the weekend, a testament to the hard work and continuous improvement that defines our racing program.
The #33 now sits P4 in both the LMGT3 Drivers and Teams championships, and the focus immediately shifts to the season finale. The stage is set for a showdown at the Bahrain 8 Hours on the weekend of November 8th. The team will be fighting as hard as they can for a strong finish!.
